The team behind DocumenTools is a team of project professionals (Engineers, Attorneys, Software Developers, etc.). Much of our team was frustrated with the way documents and data were treated. We found a way the way to solve our frustrations and give that solution to industry professionals that feel the same pain.
Information management from 1950 to 1995 was relatively unchanged. The whole operation hinged on an army of administrators, couriers, and the goodwill of professionals to help the process along. This was a rough way to do business. It was frustrating. There was a lot of overhead. Things moved slowly.
That all changed in the 90s when we started to see email, desktop computers, and rudimentary office networks popping up. This made the transmission of files easier, but there was not a lot of control or management.
In the late 90s and 2000s we saw the enterprise software era. The IT industry sold fledgling document control software for big bucks. They solved some problems but couldn’t quite keep up with globalization. This means teams in remote offices, subsidiaries, and telecommuters were largely out of luck.
That didn’t sit right with us, so we zeroed in on building a document management system that satisfied the following criteria:
Cost effective
Can be used anywhere
Completely scalable (projects, users, documents) Accessible
Standardizes processes across projects
We’ve succeeded in creating the above system. We are crazy proud of it and we’d love for you to take a look and let us help your teams start working on the next level.
